Barre is a total-body workout designed to strengthen, tone, and lengthen muscles through isometric movements. This low impact exercise combines Pilates, yoga, ballet, and the use of props to provide a safe workout for all body types. We heat the room to 85° to help warm our muscles, aids in lubricating joints, and also increases our heart rate building endurance.
Megan is a certified barre & yoga instructor who's thrilled to bring this popular workout weekly to Bodhi!
*Limited space; Registration required for barre
Wednesday 1/15:
6pm - Yoga Nidra POP-UP
What some may call yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice aimed at cultivating a sense of peace and relaxation in the mind and body. Students lay on their backs in “savasana” for a full 60 minutes during a guided meditation. The goal is to drop in between the state of wakefulness and sleep. Yoga Nidra was first mentioned in the Upanishads (the oldest sacred scriptures), explained as one of the four states of consciousness. This practice of tapping into the subconscious can help relieve chronic tension in the body and anxiety in the mind. The subconscious holds the essence of our true self. Tap into your full potential and hold space for yourself to relax!
Thursday:
6pm - Ashtanga Primary Series (short form)
The Ashtanga vinyasa primary series is the first of six in the ashtanga yoga system. Each series is a fast-paced sequence of postures including sun-salutations, standing postures, seated postures, backbends and inversions. The Primary Series is called Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy or yoga for health, because of the cleansing and strengthening effect it has on both body and mind. Ashtanga is a rigorous practice, but anyone with previous yoga experience is welcome to attend. Students are encouraged to honor their bodies by modifying poses and taking breaks as needed. The sequence taught in this class is a shortened form of the full primary series, with several of the seated postures excluded in order to fit the class into one hour. Eve has been teaching this short form of the Ashtanga primary series since 2021.
*For our warm classes, we heat the studio to reach between 80-85°
Saturday:
8:30am - Vinyasa w/yin
This class is a fusion of two popular styles of yoga, Vinyasa & Yin. We get our heart rate up by moving through a series of postures helping to tone muscles. Then, we slow it down and stretch into connective tissue holding floor poses for an extended time. Here, we’ll add the Yin to the Yang for a more wholesome practice. A beautifully balanced class where you’re encouraged to reach your edge always listening to your body’s needs. Feel your personal power by learning to steady the mind, focus your breath, and discover ultimate presence!
Saturday: 1/11 & 1/18
10:15am - Easy Morning Yoga
We’ll gradually warm the bodies during Easy Morning yoga finding steady rhythm throughout a vinyasa flow. Our mindful practice teaches us to be observers of our body and breath, helping us to remain present. This gentle flow is for any level practitioner seeking a slower-paced class. It is accessible to everyone with minimal risk of injury. The majority of the time is spent in floor postures with a short standing sequence. It’s designed to help relieve stress and dissolve tension in the body. This class will help you gain flexibility gradually and cultivate mind/body awareness.
